Underneath a sun so bright. Come whispers of a hummingbird. Sweet wings of hope. Of telltale innocence. A matter of life to reflect. It is not about me. It is not about you. It is about all of us. Born from the depths of heaven. Nurtured into the veins of earth. A woven cloth of oneness. A silent truth to hold our souls. Pause for a moment. Harbor self-enlightenment. For it will enlighten others to do the same. What is to be, be as one. It does not take much to see it. We can all bind the good together. On white sands and warm hearts. Smiling from ear to ear. Share love for everyone’s sake. Let it permeate to levitate. Walk alongside the miles of peace. Forever intend, care to the end.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, I arrived in America at seven years old as a war refugee in 1975. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, happily married with two grown children, and I reside in Colorado. A horrific injury in 2014 forever altered the course of my life, leaving me an incomplete quadriplegic. Yet even through this unexpected journey, I have learned that living fully in the present can remain fruitful, joyous, and deeply meaningful.
To be human is to show kindness to one another. Let go of fear, prejudice, and desire, and awaken to each moment with gratitude for the profound gift of life. Turn to the people beside you and all around you, and project your inner being outward—be good to yourself and to others. We are all woven from the same fabric; may we surround one another with unconditional love, support, and warmth of heart. Our time on Earth is precious and deserves to be embraced with immense gratitude.
